Why Meal Planning is a Game Changer

  • Meal planning simplifies your life and saves time. Eliminate the guesswork of deciding what to make for dinner each night. With a pre-planned menu, you can quickly execute your plan. Post the meal plan on your refrigerator so everyone knows what to expect. This is a great way to include the whole family.
  • Meal planning saves money. By creating a plan and only buying what you need from the grocery store, you can avoid impulse purchases and reduce food waste. You’ll also be less tempted to eat out, which can result in significant savings.
  • Meal planning is healthier. Planning meals in advance allows you to prioritize healthy ingredients like vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains. Preparing your own meals at home is always healthier than restaurant dining, as you control the ingredients and portion sizes.

What Makes Our Vegan Meal Plans Unique?

We understand that many meal plans are available. Some are free (like ours!), and others come with a cost. Here’s why you should choose ours:

  • We design our meal plans for busy schedules. Our primary goal is to create practical and realistic meal plans. We don’t just randomly select recipes and send you off with a mile-long grocery list. We carefully consider how the recipes complement each other and how to save you time in the kitchen. For example: sometimes, you’ll prepare a larger quantity of food in one go (with minimal extra effort), and the extra food (we call them “planned-overs!”) is used for another meal the next day. Two meals in one!
  • Balance: Most of the recipes on our site are relatively easy to prepare. However, some recipes naturally have longer ingredient lists than others. We carefully balance these more complex recipes with simpler ones that require fewer ingredients. And, in the spirit of balance, you’ll often find a meatless recipe featured on Mondays.
  • Fun Fridays! We keep things light on Fridays with a fun, easy-to-prepare meal. Think tacos, pizza, or other kid-friendly recipes that can be put together with some store-bought shortcuts.
  • Categorized Grocery List: The grocery list is organized by category to make shopping easy, and it also indicates when each ingredient is needed during the week. If you’re not eating at home on Friday, you can easily remove the Friday ingredients. If you dislike a Monday recipe, you can easily cross off those ingredients without having to check each recipe to see what you need.
  • Meal Prep/Make Ahead: Many of our recipes include tips for meal prepping or making components ahead of time. This is optional, but sometimes, a little advance preparation (perhaps on the weekend) can make a huge difference during the week!

What to Expect Each Week

We’ll publish a new vegan meal plan every week (on Thursdays) to give you plenty of time to plan, prep, and shop. We’ll also be adding seasonally-focused meal plans and specialty meal plans (such as gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.) in the future.

All of our meal plans will remain available after the week of publication, so you can revisit your favorites anytime!

How to Get Started with Our Vegan Meal Plans

Here’s how to enjoy your weekly vegan meal plan:

  1. Print the meal plan and grocery list.
  2. Go to each recipe and print it, or save it digitally. You can use the “jump to recipe” button at the top of the post or scroll to find all information about the recipe. Many of our posts include tips on adapting the recipes to your preferences. If you plan to make changes, be sure to note them on your grocery list.
  3. Review the grocery list and cross off any ingredients you already have or that are not needed for recipes you won’t be making.
  4. Head to the grocery store to buy your ingredients. You’ll find shopping is easier and less stressful with a well-organized list.
  5. Cook and enjoy your delicious vegan meals! Share your culinary creations on social media when you try one of my recipes. We love to see your photos, and we often share them. We also greatly appreciate comments and recipe reviews. Please feel free to ask questions; we’ll do our best to answer them.
