Strawberry Margarita Punch Recipe

This Strawberry Margarita Punch captures all the delicious flavors of a
classic margarita, with a fun and easy twist! Perfect for your next party or
summer get-together.

Classic Margarita Flavors: Combining fresh lime juice, orange
liqueur (like Triple Sec or Cointreau), and of course, tequila, this punch
offers everything you love about margaritas and more.

Made with Strawberry Soda: This recipe simplifies things with
the help of fizzy strawberry soda, delivering all the strawberry flavor you
need. This is what makes it a “punch” instead of a traditional margarita,
since the soda acts as both the sweetener and flavor base.

Ideal for Summer Parties: With its classic strawberry
margarita flavors, this sparkling punch is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser.
It’s so easy to make that you’ll find yourself making this recipe often for
summer parties. Each batch makes six cocktails, but you can easily double or
triple the recipe for larger groups!

Friendly Warning

This Strawberry Margarita Punch is so fruity and delicious that you might
forget it’s an alcoholic beverage. Please always drink responsibly!

Ingredient Notes

  • Tequila: I recommend using plata tequila (also known as
silver or white tequila) for this recipe. Avoid aged tequilas for mixed
drinks. A standard 750 ml bottle of tequila will yield approximately 16
margaritas if you use 1.5 oz per drink, as this recipe does.
  • Lime Juice: Freshly squeezed lime juice is key for the best
    flavor.
  • Orange Liqueur: You can use Triple Sec, Cointreau, or Grand
    Marnier.
  • Strawberry Soda: Strawberry soda adds sweetness, strawberry
flavor, and the delightful fizz to your punch. Popular brands include
Fanta, Crush, and Sunkist, but feel free to use your favorite brand.
  • For the Rim (Optional): Dip the rims of your glasses in
    simple syrup
and then in coarse salt or sugar. If you don’t have simple syrup, lime juice
or soda can be used instead.
  • Rim Garnishes (Optional): A lime wedge and a strawberry
garnish are festive and add a beautiful touch to the sugar-rimmed glasses!
  • Ice: Make sure you have plenty of fresh ice on hand.

Recipe Variations

  • Different Soda: Experiment with different fruit sodas like
Sprite or other flavors to create variations of this margarita punch. If
strawberries aren’t your favorite, check out my
    cranberry margarita recipe
    – it’s perfect for the winter holidays!
  • Plain Rim: Feel free to skip the dipped rim if you prefer.
  • Make it a Daiquiri: This cocktail is similar to a daiquiri,
where you’d use rum instead of tequila. Both can be served on the rocks,
    blended, or as a punch.

Make-Ahead Ideas

To get a head start, combine the tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur in a
pitcher and chill. Just before serving, add ice and strawberry soda.

Storage Tips

For the best flavor, serve the punch immediately after adding the ice and
soda. If you have leftovers, store them in the refrigerator. Keep in mind that
the soda will lose its fizz and the ice will water down the punch over time.
