Why Meal Plan? The Benefits Explained
Meal planning is a game-changer for a smoother, more organized week. Here’s why you should consider incorporating it into your routine:
Save Time and Reduce Stress
Meal planning takes the guesswork out of busy weeknights. No more last-minute scrambling or wondering what to make! With a plan in place, you simply execute it. Post your meal plan on the fridge so everyone in the family knows what to expect, making it a great way to get everyone involved.
Save Money
Planning your meals and buying only what you need from the grocery store can significantly reduce food waste. You’ll also be less tempted to eat out, which can lead to substantial savings over time.
Eat Healthier
Meal planning gives you the opportunity to consciously incorporate healthy foods into your diet. You can easily plan for fresh vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains. Plus, home-cooked meals are almost always healthier than restaurant options.
What Makes Rachel Cooks Meal Plans Unique?
There are many meal plans available, both free and paid. Here’s what sets our meal plans apart:
- Designed for Busy Schedules: Our goal is to create realistic and manageable meal plans. We carefully select recipes that work well together and help you save time in the kitchen. We avoid sending you off to the store with an overwhelming grocery list.
- Balanced Recipes: We understand that recipes vary in complexity. We balance more involved recipes with simpler options that have shorter ingredient lists to provide a well-rounded and user-friendly experience.
- Fun Fridays! We make Fridays easy with fun, easy-to-prepare meals. Think tacos, pizza, or kid-friendly recipes that come together quickly with store-bought shortcuts.
- Categorized Grocery Lists: Our grocery lists are organized by category to make shopping a breeze. They also indicate which day each ingredient is needed, so you can easily cross off items if you’re skipping a certain meal.
- Meal Prep/Make-Ahead Ideas: Many of our recipes include suggestions for meal prepping or making components ahead of time. A little advance prep on the weekend can make a huge difference during the week!
What to Expect from Our Weekly Meal Plans
- One new meal plan released every week (on Thursdays) to give you plenty of time to plan, prep, and shop. All recipes serve 4 people unless otherwise noted.
- Each meal plan typically includes:
- 5 main dish recipes, often including a meatless option.
- 1 bonus recipe: something you can prep earlier in the week for breakfast, a healthy snack, or a dessert.
- A printable, organized grocery list.
- Occasionally, we’ll feature seasonally themed or specialty meal plans (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian).
- All meal plans remain available after the week of publication, so you can revisit your favorites anytime!
