At a glance
What stands out: A cherry martini with lime and elderflower is fruity, flavorful, and so straightforward to mix! Make a big pitcher for entertaining or make a single glass for a night out on the deck.
How long it takes: 5 minutes
Equipment you’ll need: cocktail shaker (you can also make it without a shaker and serve it over ice)
Servings: 2 (or as many as you like)
First, we have a little (sad) story. As you may know, we use one of our upstairs bedrooms as our photo studio. For this photo shoot, we brought everything upstairs and began to set the scene with backdrop, linens, and glasses. We gave the cocktail shaker a little shake, and it leaded a little. Annoying! We wrapped a towel around it, and decided it’s good enough to pour into the glasses. We took the shaker lid off, grabbed the shaker and, since it’s a little wet on the outside from it leaking, it slipped out of our hand. Cherry juice, Belvedere, and St-Germaine (which is even more expensive than Belvedere!) went flying across our carpet.
- Yield: 2
- Prep: 5 minutes
- Total: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 ounces tart cherry juice
- 1 ½ ounces vodka
- 1 ounce elderflower liqueur (such as St-Germain)
- juice of ½ lime
- ice for shaking
- lime slices or fresh black cherries (for optional garnish)
Method
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice (see note).
- Shake well, and pour into glasses, straining out ice. Serve immediately, garnished with a lime slice or fresh black cherry.
Notes
On the rocks: If desired, this cherry martini may also be served over ice in a highball glass instead of shaking and straining it.
