Why Meal Plan? Benefits of Planning Your Meals

  • Saves Time and Simplifies Life: Meal planning eliminates the daily guesswork of “what’s for dinner?” It’s one less thing to worry about each evening. Post the meal plan on your refrigerator so everyone in the family knows what to expect. This encourages family involvement.
  • Saves Money: Planning your meals and buying only what you need reduces the chances of buying unnecessary items that may be wasted. It also decreases the likelihood of eating out, which can result in significant savings.
  • Promotes Healthier Eating: Planning meals in advance gives you time to focus on incorporating healthy vegetables, fruits, legumes, and grains into your diet. Cooking at home is almost always a healthier option than dining out.

What Sets Our Meal Plans Apart?

There are many meal plans available, both free and paid. So, why choose ours?

  • Designed for Busy Schedules: Our primary goal is to make meal plans practical and realistic. We don’t just randomly select recipes and provide a long grocery list. We consider how meals work well together and how to save you time. For instance, sometimes you’ll prepare a larger amount of food on one day (but with the same effort), and the extra food (we don’t call them “leftovers!”) is used for another meal the following day. Two meals in one!
  • Balanced Recipes: Most of the recipes on our site are easy to prepare. However, some have longer ingredient lists. We balance more complex recipes with simpler ones that have fewer ingredients. We often feature a meatless recipe on Mondays.
  • Fun Fridays! We ease your burden on Fridays with a fun, easy-to-prepare meal. Think tacos, pizza, or other kid-friendly recipes that can be made with store-bought shortcuts.
  • Categorized Grocery Lists: Our grocery lists are categorized for easy shopping and indicate which day an ingredient is needed. This allows you to easily cross off ingredients you don’t need if you are skipping a particular meal.
  • Meal Prep and Make-Ahead Options: Many recipes offer suggestions for getting a head start on preparations. This is optional, but taking some time for meal prepping (perhaps on the weekend) can make a big difference during the week!

What to Expect from Our Meal Plans

We publish a new meal plan weekly (on Thursdays, giving you time to plan, prep, and shop). We’ll also be adding seasonally focused and specialty meal plans (gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.) in the future.

Each meal plan will remain available after its publication week. You can always revisit your favorite plans again and again!
